Greetings!
Another day in our wonderful snow globe world has given me the feeling of winter bliss. Despite my longings to go outside I find myself stuck inside finishing up homework and cleaning my house. If only I had a clone that would clean for me, maybe cloning wouldn’t be so bad after all, but maybe it would be bad. Cloning is a fascinating subject and after watching the movie entitled “The Island” it really brought to life how cloning humans could possibly become a legal and profitable endeavor. In the movie, the characters lived in this sort of world where they are lead to believe that the civilization has come to an end and they were all living there is a sort of facility as this was the only safe place to be. Every so often one of the people in this facility would get chosen to go to this elusive island to live and never return to the facility. As the movie unravels it is discovered that society outside this facility did in fact exist and these people where the clones of people living in society. As people from the facility were chosen to go to the island that is when they were actually medically needed to fulfill their purpose of being a living organ donor for their purchasers outside the facility. This was a great movie and I would defiantly recommend it. The idea of having a clone sounds appealing but in reality this concept could be a highly ethical debate. Scientists work every day cloning body parts and saving many peoples lives, but one wonders if we possible could ever really have a clone out there or not??
